Musings from a Dirty Workbench - June, 2008 PDF Print E-mail
by Mario Perdue

I just finished my latest build article and I've got to say that this one has been the most enjoyable project I've done to date. Without going into the particulars, this model is from my favorite movie so I was really psyched when the oportunity came up. I wish I'd have had a few more days to work on it but, deadlines being what they are, that was not to be. Still, Im happy with the way the model turned out and I hope everyone will like it. Now it's time to turn my attention to the next project. This one also promises to be a fun build and, unlike the one I just finished, it will be a flying project.

What's on my Workbench?

I've currently got a few projects going. I'm repainting the 1:12 scale Mercury-Redstone to get it ready for display - more on that at a later date.  I'm also revisiting the Rocketplane Global model to fix some problems with the finish on it. I hope to have both of these models looking good in a week or so.

My new projects include some electronics work for my next build article and getting started on my Roachwerks Nike-Hercules model that I purchased at NSL 2007. The Nike-Hercules is, in my opinion, the greatest looking missile from the cold war era so it's nice to have a quality model of it to build. I'll also be doing some repair work for this year's flying - my Astron Shrike will need to be completely rebuilt and I'll need to do minor repairs on my X-Wing Fighter and Black Brant. It looks like I'll be busy for awhile.

 Keep 'em flying everyone.
